Hi! My name is Melanie Hemsworth. I am the director and head trainer of Body Perfect Training.
As you can see I love to train and take great pride in keeping myself in the shape I promise all my clients can be in. It’s so simple; if you follow the steps the weight has no option but to fall off, your shape changes, muscle develops, a faster metabolism makes it easier every day to maintain the changes and life starts to become easier and more fun.
I spent from the age of 3 to 20 as a very serious ballet dancer, wanting it to be my career but unfortunately my feet (genetically dreadful for a dancer) could no longer take the strain. I was also a good track athlete and loved the competition and adrenalin that goes with it.
I always knew I belonged in the world of fitness, health and nutrition.
I started my career in fitness 15 years ago as a Certificate 3 fitness instructor working part time in Harbord Diggers whilst working in real estate and then advertising sales. It was my love of fitness and competitive sport that made it a natural progression to pass on all the benefits I got from a strong, healthy and fit body and mind.
When I had my children I went back to and gained high distinctions in both Certificate 3 fitness instructor and Certificate 4 Personal Trainer. I also am a group instructor and used to teach freestyle aerobics (which is making a come back) at the Manly Leagues Club. I am a qualified special and older population instructor and have many certificates in nutrition.
I spent the first couple of years working with very experienced and qualified health professionals in order to learn from the best such as ex first grade rugby league player Shannon Nevin.
Nutrition is key to my training success (around 80-90% of your result) I have worked and studied hard to get a nutrition plan that works. In saying that whilst the basic formula cannot be ignored; burn more calories than you consume to lose weight, all men, women and children are different and each client I look at individually to reach their goal whether it be weight loss, muscle gain, increase strength, change shape, pre or post natal nutrition, health conditions that are diet sensitive such as diabetes, epilepsy, or low blood pressure.
I always push myself to be better, faster, stronger, whether it be through fun runs and half marathons or body sculpting competitions (Ms Olympia) of which I hold titles of 2nd in Australasia, and 2nd and 3rd in Australia and gained sponsorship for doing so. I did all this completely natural (no drugs just very hard work and nutrition) against a world of girls whom could not say the same.
I am successful and confident in training anyone, male or female, my strength and speed allows me to train the fittest and strongest men or women, where my femininity and being a mother allows me to train men, women or children coming from any level of fitness.
Follow the rules and watch yourself change for the better forever.
